Steven Green of Redcar – The Homeless Millionaire

Steven Green of Redcar – The Homeless Millionaire

Steven Green is a local property investor and business owner from Redcar who runs courses dealing with property strategies and also self improvement/mindset. He’s ex-Army and uses his skills to show that we can pretty much achieve anything by changing our attitude towards the situations we are in. He’s a local property millionaire who believes in giving back. He’s very concerned with mental health issues and his courses have helped people all over the country. He’s even helped people with suicidal thoughts.

Homeless and living on the streets

This summer (2019) Steven set himself a target. He says he actually hatched the plan in 2014, so it was 5 years in the making. He intentionally made himself homeless, with no money or job, living on the streets of Leeds, away from his native Redcar. His target was to get a haircut, new clothes, maybe a job and a place to live, all within 7 days. A tall order.

He got himself off to the worst possible start (deliberately) by smoking Heroin. He did this to understand and feel how drugs change people’s perceptions and motivations when on the streets and how it can effect everyone who falls into the trap. In the 7 days he allocated to the project, coming off Heroin, one of the World’s most addictive drugs was therefore added to the list of problems he needed to solve.

How to Overcome Obstacles and Transform them into Success.

Psychology tells us that overcoming any obstacle is mostly in our minds. What this means is that we have to get the right mindset and motivations about the obstacle.

Overcoming obstacles begins with having the correct mindset, motives, and action plan for the obstacle. Without these three things, it is impossible to know what the obstacle is, let alone overcome it and transform it into success.

Here’s The Steven Green “Homeless Millionaire” video that documents the desperate state lots of homeless people are in, the people he met and helped along the way, as well as the tragic details of those who didn’t make it. Steven was deeply affected by the project and hopes his experience will change the opinion that most people have about the homeless. Getting out of the spiral of despair IS possible, but it’s not as easy as he first thought and requires strong mental application, something that most homeless people struggle with per se. The longer you are on the streets, the harder it is, as mental health deteriorates and hopelessness sets in.

It’s a very sobering film, at times shocking, but is ultimately inspirational. It’s a long video (nearly 2 hours), but well worth watching if you have the time.

I am in no way affiliated with Steven Green, so I have no axe to grind here, I just thought it was an interesting video and project by a guy who is doing a lot for his home town up here in the North East.
